Lately I have had the urge to go back and finish playing Skyrim although I have yet to find time to really do it. There is something about watching Lord of the Rings for the first time that is making me really want to play the game. Well, as if that urge wasn’t strong enough already, this amazing Aela the Huntress Skyrim cosplay has me wishing I could take the rest of the day off of work just to go home and play Skyrim.

Chris Hardwick, the guy that most people know from his Nerdist podcast among other things, apparently thought his girlfriend, actress Chloe Dykstra looked a lot like Aela the Huntress from Skyrim. Of course what better way to know for sure than by dressing her up as Aela the Huntress! Well, it looks he was right because she looks amazing in this Aela the Huntress cosplay! I love the photography too!

Chris is one lucky man!

It never ceases to amaze me just how far technology has come since I was a kid. Last night UPS dropped off a 64GB USB drive (Black Friday impulse buy from Office Depot) and I am amazed that they can put 64GB of storage in something the size of my thumb when I grew up with floppy disks that could only hold 1.44MB. Even though I love that less seems to be more these days, I still have a soft spot for old floppy drives.

Well, it seems I am not the only one with a fondness for older technology as the German design team Neulant van Exel designed and built this amazing coffee table that looks like an old floppy disk. The best part of this awesome floppy disk table is that you can slide open the shutter to be able to store stuff inside the table!

I WANT THIS TABLE!!!!

Unusual concept is a real dream of music lovers: it can be used as the phone, and as stereo. Turn the device to the headphones can one movement hand. MP3 player, as and the drive is built into the represented gadget. In the prototype
use the touch screen that takes up the entire front panel when folded. True, on images no microphone, but if LG Hi-Fi sometime will see the light, this and other minor disadvantages, of course, will be eliminated.

We steeled ourselves last week as we learned that frequent ruiner of things, Will.i.am planned to release a gaudy iPhone case that turned your iPhone’s 8-megapixel camera into a 14-megapixeler. Now we have images and it’s even more garish and ugly than we could have imagined.

As I post this through gagging fits, I look for some logic as to why one would wear one of these $315 abominations around one’s neck as Will.i.am modeled at the launch of the device. Maybe you have always dreamed of having your own Jesus piece, but you just can’t pull it off. This might be the next best thing. It also would match nicely with your golden Gucci iPhone.

But just when the naseau is wearing off, you must know that this thing works with an app called i.am+foto, sosho . Sound that one out for a second. The case, which Mr. i.am says turns your smart phone into a genius phone, will also appear in a future music video. It goes on sale December 6.

Will.i.am, a man of many talents. He has a Grammy. He wears sunglasses indoors. He produced a special song for the Curiosity Rover. He has angular hair. He poops gold-rimmed iPhone cases.

Side note: the CEO of his company is Chandra Rathakrishnan. You remember Rathakrishnan, right? He was the guy behind the CrunchPad/JooJoo/Grid10. [The Telegraph via MacRumors]

Today’s deal of the day is simple: If you’re a person that lives in a dwelling you’re going to need to drill holes at some point, whether it’s to hang a heavy picture or to make a peephole to spy on your roommate (Note: DO NOT spy on your roommate.) And to make a hole, you’ll need a drill. Our very own power tool expert Harry Sawyers went through all the best portable, cordless drills, and the Bosch PS130-2A was by far the best. If you’re not a home improvement professional, this Bosch is our Bestmodo kitchen drawer drill: it’s light, powerful, and today, it’s cheap.

Amazon’s selling the Bosch PS130 for $125 today, which is the lowest price on the internet and the lowest historical price. That’s about $40 less than you’d spend (not including tax) if you strolled into your local Home Depot and picked one up. If you don’t need the hammer drill functionality, the Bosch PS-31 at $99 might be right up your alley. Important note: the price will show up as $25 more than the actual final price. There’s an extra $25 discount applied at checkout. [Amazon]

Though it’s growing incredibly rare to find occasions to wear tuxedos, it’s also growing incredibly common to pop bottle of champagnes when one wears a tuxedo. But though champagne and tuxedos get along swimmingly, champagne on tuxedo is not as nice a combo. That’s why Proof NY decided to make a techy tuxedo that can repel water and dirt and champagne.

Here’s Proof NY describing the tuxedo:

The Proof NY Tuxedo sports a jacket with a tailored silohuette and pants with a similar fit to our Spelman Pants (though a bit less tapered). The classic peak lapel was a clear first choice, though a shawl-version is in the works. Subtle contrast piping inside the blazer gives a peek of color to the otherwise traditional black motif.

For the main fabric, we decided to use the same high-performance Schoeller Dryskin blend as in our Spelman Pants. The core fabric has a NanoSphere treatment to make the tux highly water + dirt repellanct (water, coffee, and yes, champagne, slide right off the fabric). We also decided to line the tux jacket with a black Japanese satin lining with complimentary stretch, giving the inner garment a luxurious feel while retaining freedom of movement and spectacular comfort.

Here’s some more pictures of the tuxedo:

A Techy Tuxedo That Keeps You Looking Good and Dry When You Pop Champagne

I guess James Bond knows where to go to for his next tuxedo. [Proof NY]

Prince Albert, a.k.a. England’s King George VI was never supposed to be King George VI at all. In fact, his older brother, Edward, was the country’s reigning monarch until he abdicated to marry a divorc e. And thus, soft spoken stammering George was thrust into a position of power on the eve of the second world war.

So he turns to an unorthodox Australian speech therapist named Lionel Logue. At the time seeking this kind of help was an unheard of solution for a royal. And the clock is working against him—George must be ready to deliver his first radio address when England declares war on Germany in 1939.

The King’s Speech is a fantastic film—it won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (for Colin Firth as George), and Best Screenplay at the 2011 Academy Awards. Bonus fun fact: parts of it were filmed on the same set used for a porno just weeks earlier. [Netflix]
