The Head Of Chewbacca From Star Wars Sold For $172K
The mask that turned actor Peter Mayhew into the fuzz ball that we know as Chewbacca has been sold at a movie memorabilia auction for a whopping $172,000 ( 110,000); this is supposed to be one of the best examples of the original Star Wars mask available today.
According to the auctioneers, Profiles In History, they described the lot as being;
The finest full costume headpiece of Chewbacca from the original trilogy in private hands, the finest screen-correct Chewbacca costume head from the Star Wars trilogy known to exist.
